Responsible for drafting local legislations and governmental regulations on water pollution prevention and ecological conservation of Beijing, formulation relevant plans and standards and organizing the implementation; conducting unified supervision and management of water pollution prevention in accordance with the law and undertaking relevant administrative permission work; establishing and organizing the implementation of examination and assessment system of water quality of the cross-border water sections in districts and counties; organizing the implementation of ecological environmental quality assessment; supervising the natural resources development and utilization activities with impact on eco-environment, the key eco-environmental conservation work and restoration of ecological damages; organizing and conducting pollution prevention and ecological conservation in rural areas; providing guidance to the demonstration of ecological conservation and eco-farming; investigating and addressing key ecological damage events; and organizing and putting forth comments and opinions for the approval of new nature reserves, and conducting supervisory inspection on the management of nature reserves of various kinds.
